Rick was home for four days a couple of weeks ago with awesome news that he will NOT be going back into a combat zone for now – but training in Alaska late this summer. The weather was drizzly so we spent a lot of time hanging out, watching the Stanley cup and the world cup. It was wonderful to be together.
On either end of his visit, I was the second shooter at two beautiful weddings, one in Estes Park another in Fort Collins. Both were wonderful experiences, each couple was full of love, joy and bliss. . . there is something very special about being a part of a wedding, helping to create memories that last a lifetime.
Fast forward to the longest day of the year. June 21, a day all of us light lovers relish. Yep as you can imagine, we made the most of it. Up before daylight. We tossed our bikes in the back of the truck and met with a group of 45 or so cyclists headed for the capitol of Wyoming, Cheyenne. Becky and Rich Dixon have built an inspiring platform to provide hope to stop human trafficking. We rode nearly 60 miles back to Fort Collins on a beautiful, sunny cool morning.
Hope changes what’s possible! Front Range Freedom tour
Not too sore when we got back ~ Mark heard from Heidi that there was some great hay available, we (mostly Mark and Heidi) moved 107 bales from the field into a covered storage spot ~ keeping it dry for winter feeding.
Sunday was spent with friends, trekking to Denver, (in the car this time) for some southern home cooking at Cora Faye’s. Later in the afternoon it was all about watching USA in World Cup soccer.
Caught up to today. Working as a photographer is the best! Gwen, the photographer I have been working with as her second shooter, is expecting her fourth baby in December. During our last wedding shoot, we made a plan for me to find out the results of the gender of their baby. She gave her doctor office permission to release information to me, so I got to call this afternoon and find out that she and Chris are expecting their third little girl.
I made a sign, covered a box with brown paper and picked up a bunch of pink balloons to reveal to mom and dad! I am pretty sure I was almost as excited as them. We met a the park ~ the sunshine held until Gwen made it down from their mountain home and Chris made it back from work.

A beautiful portrait captures my subject where they are to celebrate the moment. Each of us is full of unique joy. It is a wonderful pleasure to capture the joy of my subjects.
I look forward to collaborating with you to capture your moments!
